   We always have such a wonderful experience here the food came out a little different than we anticipated. Their team immediately fixed everything and went over and above what was necessary to make sure that we are happy!! so grateful for everything from the wonderful location to the great food.    We had received gift certificates from a contractor that we worked with for this restaurant around 2019. Obviously the restaurant was closed in 2020 during 2020. We moved out of town and decided we were going go there for a grandmother‘s 75th birthday and took the gift certificate that we had with us When we received the bill we were told that the gift certificates were counterfeit and they would not accept them and they were from too long ago as far as I know Washington state has no expiration on gift certificates my husband not wanting to cause a scene at his mother’s birthday just gave them the gift certificates and paid the Bill so essentially the dinner ended up being almost $400 for two between the gift certificates he gave them and the money he paid for the dinner. I think this is a horribly bad business practice, especially considering the owner himself was the one involved in the checkout process.

   Nice ambiance for a relaxed date night. Definitely plan to make a reservation...the dining room was tiny and it seemed like most tables would stay for 2 hours, so not much turnover. We could easily hear each other speak, which was a huge plus. The food was very good and portions were generously sized. We especially liked the antipasto platter which had a larger than normal variety of items. Waiter service was friendly, but a little slow. Water service was great, though..our glasses were never more than half empty. We would have liked suggestions for wine pairing, but that did not seem to be a focus here. All in all, a great night out close to home and fairly priced. We will be back.

   This spot continues to be a gem. Excellent Italian - prices are appropriate relative to excellent quality food. Great for special occasions!

   We’ve been coming to Montalcino’s for over 10 years and can say it’s still an amazing gem of a place that we still love so much. The food, the ambiance, the staff are all so consistent and good. Can’t think of a single dish we wouldn’t order again - love all their risotos and seafood dishes. We try at least one of whatever their specials are for the evening - so good each and every time. We almost never order dessert normally but we can’t pass up Montalcino’s canoles :) Highly recommend this place.

   Our favorite place to eat in Issaquah and probably top 3 Italian places in the greater Seattle area. Love it here

   This restaurant was a new experience for me. I went for my birthday dinner with my husband and another couple and a generous gift certificate we received at Christmas. What a great experience! It's a cozy place that reminded me of so many delightful restaurants when I lived in NYC. The owner makes the rounds to every table. The service is caring and attentive. And the food - WOW. I had the Insalata di Cesare salad, a nice slab of romaine with the dressing and shaved parm on top, served with a steak knife to cut through and enjoy. The best Caesar I've had in years. And my entree was the Ravioli alla Juventus, wild mushroom ravioli in a parmigiano cream sauce. I wanted to fill a bathtub with it and eat my way out. Fabulous. The others at my table had the halibut special with pesto risotto, Chicken Pizzaiola, and a custom pasta primavera. Everybody cleaned their plate. We were too full and happy to get individual desserts, but ordered a tiramisu and four forks. That came on a platter with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate and a singing of the birthday song. Totally adorable. And that tiramisu was crazy delicious and light as a feather.

    Montalcino is always my "go-to" restaurant for special occasions and entertaining visitors. The setting is cozy, the food is delicious, and the staff is always gracious. If I were to mention anything negative it would include the difficulty getting a good time for a reservation even when checking weeks in advance and the occasional difficulty parking nearby.
