Monteiths bar & restaurant is nestled in a fairy-lit close in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The award winning venue is located just off the historic Royal Mile and combines chic cocktail bar with intimate restaurant. A favourite of locals and visitors alike, Monteiths is a must for relaxed dining and innovative cocktails.

Monteiths is by the team behind the White Horse Oyster Bar, and Chop House

Due to licensing restrictions Monteiths cannot accept children under the age of 5 at any time. Children aged 15 & under can be admitted until 10pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Good location. All food was good with a varied menu. Staff were attentive and helpful. The interior of the restaurant is good. I only downgraded the ambiance as we evidently visited on a quiet lunchtime. I’m sure there is a better vibe when busy. I would certainly return.

Excellent food and service, I’m all for creating ambience but the bar area is so dark you can’t read the menu or see your plate and this lets the overall experience down,

What a place! Great atmosphere, decor, friendly welcoming service, but above all the food was to die for. I had Pork Belly for main which was one of the best main meals I’ve had in a very long time. I’ve been recommending it since and will continue to do so for those visiting Edinburgh. I shall be back.

A very enjoyable evening. The food was delicious, service good and friendly atmosphere. We have been to Monteiths before, but have not been able to for a few years. So glad to see that everything is as good as it has always been.

Another fabulous meal at Monteith's, busy for a Friday lunchtime but the service was excellent, the food superb and overall everything was excellent.

The whole experience was excellent, was such a comfortable environment and the service was excellent along with the food being incredible. I would say it was slightly on the expensive side.

We booked at fairly short notice, and while the place was busy, we were really impressed. Great menu with excellent variety, fantastic cocktails, and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Really lovely ambiance as well. In short, we had a lovely meal!

Had a perfect lunch at Monteiths yesterday. Not my first time and it won’t be my last . Beautiful all year round entrance , excellent food , lovely ambiance and amazing staff . Our server yesterday ( so annoyed I didn’t get her name , went above and beyond to make our lunch special!! She was an absolute star !
