Monteiths bar & restaurant is nestled in a fairy-lit close in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. The award winning venue is located just off the historic Royal Mile and combines chic cocktail bar with intimate restaurant. A favourite of locals and visitors alike, Monteiths is a must for relaxed dining and innovative cocktails.

Monteiths is by the team behind the White Horse Oyster Bar, and Chop House

Due to licensing restrictions Monteiths cannot accept children under the age of 5 at any time. Children aged 15 & under can be admitted until 10pm. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Really excellent small restaurant we had fish and it was beautifully cooked. Excellent service and ambience. The wine list was a bit pricey but they have to make a profit somewhere Thoroughly recommend

Found whilst walking on the Royal Mile, it was a great discovery. Very cosy ambience, large plates and a vast selection of delicious cocktails. We had a really nice time!

We arrived early and had a cocktail at the bar. The bartender was helpful and chatty and we had a great start to the meal with some lovely drinks. We weren’t rushed from the bar and were shown our table. We were given water and plenty of time to review the menu and make our decisions. The food was lovely and drinks were good too. Service was friendly and professional and we at no time felt rushed. This is one of our favourite restaurants and it fully met our expectations again today.

This was our second visit, the first was in 2016. Our experience then was amazing, and this was the same. Excellent service, food was delicious and I loved the cocktail I had. Highly recommend. Will be back.

Beautiful place and amazing food! Service was excellent. Bar seating area is not that comfortable though We tried haggis, beef tartare, pork and fillet steak. Amazing!

My wife and I visited midweek, Wednesday. The service was prompt, polite and cheerful. The cocktails were delicious and the food was exceptional, tasty and plentiful. The ambience of the restaurant was perfect. We had a fantastic meal which we both thoroughly enjoyed.

Probably THE best food I’ve had while in Edinburgh. Period! Food was incredible, Ausrine and our other waiter (I can’t remember his name) were so friendly! The food really speaks for itself, there wasn’t a dish that we had that we didn’t like! Incredible place, we dined there 2 nights in a row! Highly recommend - had the haggis, fennel salad, black pudding, salmon, lemon sorbet, chocolate dessert and Paloma as a drink….all incredible!!! Do not miss while in Edinburgh!

Everything about our visit was excellent. Our food (the pan roasted salmon and cheddar soufflé) was delicious, and the service from Cecilia was wonderful!
