Moonshadows restaurant has set the standard for excellence in Malibu dining since the day it opened it's doors, four decades ago. At Moonshadows guests find themselves immersed in an elegant yet comfortable environment complete with the breathtaking view of the Pacific ocean.

It’s winter, and we had a table by the window. Watched sunset and the beautiful colors in the sky and in the waves. And the sound of the waves added another dimension. This kind of atmosphere and scenery is rare, and that’s why we would come back. Whereas the food? It’s OK. To us it seemed overpriced for the quality of cooking. For example I had a filet mignon, which was more medium done than medium-rare, not much flavor in the sauce, the mashed potato rather bland. The quality of the meat seemed excellent, very tender, but also that’s spinach was boring and a bit of overcooked. So I think in summary, if you want to come for an atmospheric romantic night and enjoy the scenery, this is the perfect place . The service was wonderful.

Moonshadows is, and consistently remains one of my favorite places to go in SoCal. The atmosphere, the cocktails, the menu, the staff.. everything is great. On our most recent visit, Sonia (sp) was especially accomodating when we chose to move from patio to bar, mid-meal, the staff knows how to make everyone feel welcome and have a great time. Over and over, Moonshadows delivers.

Had a great time dining with my wife at moonshadows. We started at the bar and worked our way to our table. The staff was kind enough to sit us by the window. Great views of the water and great food to go with it.

This was always our favorite date night for the last 15 years, we ate here one week before this iconic restuarant burnt to the ground. We will cherish the memories that Moonshadows provided us over the years and look forward to your triumphant return ❤️
