Welcome to Murray's Restaurant. Minneapolis' original restaurant for steak since 1946 & home of the award winning Silver Butterknife Steak dinner for two. Also known for mouth watering garlic toast, Hickory Smoked shrimp appetizer, and home baked pies. Well into its third generation of family ownership, Murray's stands out among local and out of town diners alike as a true Twin Cities landmark & continues to provide the best in food and service as it did in 1946.

    Our reservations were at 5:30 so the noise level was very low, thankfully. The price of the Silver Butterknife that we always order has been raised, in addition to the now shared side accompanying it. The real surprise was my Caesar salad with the brownish limp romaine that looked and tasted like it had been made yesterday. Not what we expect from Murray's. The service was of course impeccable, and we enjoyed the complimentary dessert for our anniversary.

    Service was perfect - waiter was prompt, attentive and friendly. We enjoyed the shrimp appetizer. French Onion soup was on point. Brussell sprouts were delicious. Only minor complaint was ribeye was ordered Medium Rare plus, but came out rare. Good experience overall

    Excellent service from our waitress and the food was delicious! Highly recommend this family owned restaurant if you want to experience some great quality steaks. Not really on the restaurant, but we were a little disappointed in seeing how some of the clientele were not respecting the type of higher quality restaurant this is. Hats on, random screaming, sitting at the table trying for 5 minutes to cut off his wristband with a knife.. You could see this at any restaurant, but it did cut into our specific experience. That said, please don’t let this deter you from going!!

    Very good overall. Food was outstanding except the scallops were served to us cold. Wonderful bread, french onion soup, wedge salad. Filet mignon was SUPERB and I loved the raspberry pie. Dennis is a great waiter--probably my favorite one there.

    Service was lacking. Scallops tasted like ammonia so they removed from the bill. Fellow guests’ steaks were great so rated higher than I would have otherwise.
