Since 2006, The LakeHouse restaurant has been the jewel of Bay Shore, NY. In the summer of 2016, owners Eileen & Matthew Connors and Jay Gut moved locations to a brand new dockside treasure. With stunning views and multiple fireplaces, comfortable seating for 100+ guests, two lounge areas, deck overlooking the Great South Bay, and both an indoor tavern room and a waterfront bar, The Lakehouse is touted by many as “one of the best restaurants on Long Island.” At night, the deck is illuminated, as is the waterfront lounge area where guests can congregate for after-dinner cocktails. This New American fine dining experience is not to be missed.     Great experience food was perfect. Started with local oysters and the Shrimo and Lobster wontons which were crisp and had just the right amount of sauce on them. Then the wedge salad with the pungent blue cheese was a great. Finished with the NY Strip and Miso Cod. Steak was cooked exactly to temp and the cod melted in my mouth. The highlight of the night was the butternut squash side with the toasted marshmallow fluff and pecans a must try!

    We recently dined at The James to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The restaurant’s decor was beautiful—elegant and welcoming, creating the perfect atmosphere for a special occasion. The service was outstanding; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel truly valued as guests. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to perfection. To make the evening even more memorable, the staff surprised us with a glass of champagne each and a thoughtful birthday card for my husband. It was such a kind and personal touch that truly elevated the experience. Overall, it was an exceptional evening, and I would definitely return. Whether for a celebration or just a nice dinner out, this is a place I would highly recommend

    Food was phenomenal and the waiters were great - only complaints are that the tables are too close together and it gets loud. Frankly, the food more than made up for that. I had the best brisket on the island, and my girlfriend had the lobster mac and cheese - both 11/10. Parking in Bay Shore sucks so get there early if you're going Thursday - Saturday.
