Welcome to The Merchant’s Yard in Tideswell!Located in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park, this family-run business is the ideal setting for any occasion; whether it be a relaxing lunch, delectable afternoon tea or a mouth-watering three-course dinner from our selection of seasonal menus designed by the head chef. We choose local suppliers to ensure a fresh and high-quality meal. Our friendly, knowledgeable, Front of House team will be on hand to guide you through our selection of menus. Blacklock is a modern take of the Great British chophouse nestled in the corner of a Grade II listed textiles warehouse. We take the best meat in the country from the award-winning farmer and butcher Philip Warren in Cornwall. We cook chops simply over our charcoal grill with a little help from vintage Blacklock irons and serve it all up alongside cocktails from the trolley and wine on tap in our subterranean chop mecca. On Sundays we serve a Roast almost as good as Mum's. We have limited spaces for Walk-ins, so we encourage booking in advance to avoid disappointment during busy times.     Great service, with very attentive and helpful staff. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. The food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the bone marrow with onions appetizer. The dish we wanted to try was sold out (the chateaubriand), so we opted for a rib eye and rump instead. We ordered three sides, all of which were delicious. The steaks were delicious , although the rib eye was tad over our preferred done-ness, and a the rump was a little tougher than we expected. The staff listened to our feedback and gave us a discount. We appreciate how seriously they took our feedback despite us assuring them the food was still good. This shows how important the customer experience is to them. Thank you.

    We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday lunch today. Our son had the burger which he declared to be one of the best he’d ever eaten. My husband and I enjoyed A traditional Sunday lunch, beef for me and pork for him. Cooked beautifully and complimented with great veg, cauliflower cheese, mash and Yorkshire pudding. The starters and desserts were stunning. The service was exceptional and the staff attentive and friendly. A great birthday treat

    Honestly the most amazing food i’ve ever had, the service was so speedy and welcoming!! the atmosphere was great and god don’t get me started on the focaccia, it was DIVINE!! This was the best restaurant i’ve been to in Manchester 100%

    Easy to book online. Communication quick. Easy to order.food tasty. Weren't offered a choice of anything after clearing main meal plates. Equally we didn't ask. Ambiance lovely. Food fabulous. Would we go again... absolutely 💯
