Helmed by Executive Chef Bob Ryan, Little Sparrow is a neighborhood "continental" restaurant from Ford Fry. Inspired by Parisian bistros and Brooklyn’s favorite taverns, Little Sparrow picks up the mantle from its beloved predecessor, JCT Kitchen and Bar to serve the Westside in a new incarnation. Named in honor of superstar French chanteuse Edith Piaf (Fry’s Howell Mill Road steakhouse, Marcel, is named after Piaf’s lover, boxer Marcel Cerdan) the menu presents timeless Brasserie classics and simple, indulgent fare including an entire section dedicated to extraordinary "Frites." Cooks & Soldiers brings the cuisine and cultural experience of Spain’s Basque region to the flourishing West Midtown area. The menu is divided into “pintxos tradicionales,” or tapas-like snacks served atop toasted bread; “pinxtos especiales,” or Basque-inspired small plates; “asador” including a variety of wood-grilled fish, meats and vegetables; and a selection of unique and modern desserts.     Overall a great experience. The server was amazing. The bread is to die for. The oysters were delicious. The peel /eat shrimp appetizer was great. The octopus appetizer was great. We also had the she crab soup, the mushroom side, the hushpuppy side. The entrees were the scallops dish and the flounder dish. Overall great. The wait time between dishes seemed very long. Not a place to go if you are on a tight schedule for event after dinner. Suggestion may be to order everything early on and let them glow it. Definitely will be back for oysters and appetizers.

    Our waiter was phenomenal as well as the whole staff there! They brought out shots and gave us a little show, very energetic atmosphere and very welcoming. The food was out of this world! Will be back.

    Our dinner at Marcel was the best dinner experience I’ve had in 40+ years. The food was excellent but what took it over the top was how hospitable the staff was. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. It was like a family member who wanted to share their food with you. We weren’t rushed and enjoyed just sitting and chatting with ourselves and the staff. They treated everyone like a VIP. I encourage everyone to try Marcel and I’ll gladly recommend it and come back.

    we sat outside where there were lovely warm heaters. I actually loved it more than sitting in the dining room. Yancy our waiter was amazing. So enjoyed him. Food... french onion soup is amazing - the bread and butter - so so good. the new "Lasagna" dish was so decadent with black shaved truffle on top that they shaved tableside. It was so good. the Frites are so good. I cannot say enough good things about the food and the service at Little Sparrow.
