The Bear of North Moreton is a welcoming village pub in North Moreton, South Oxfordshire that dates back to the 16th century and has always been the heart of the village. We offer a humble menu of traditional home-cooked pub dishes, using the best local producers and seasonal ingredients. We serve a range of ales, beer, and cider and have a small and curated wine list.     Excellent very friendly staff. Lunch was very pleasant not rushed and good timings. We were 3 hours with friends and staff always attentive but not in your face rushing. Food was very enjoyable and good range of vegetarian options.

    The food in this restaurant is just out of this world. Prepared with local ingredients and made simple and sophisticated at the same time. As an example, I ate quince in a salad, which I never did before and I wasn't even aware of that possibility. It was fantastic. The service was also great. Always available but not annoying, perfectly balanced. Will come back. Thanks

    We were slightly late as my friend was travelling from Bath and the journey was impacted by an RTA en route. However, gratifyingly, our table was still available. We both opted for the beef, which was tender and delicious, with exceptional veggies. I followed with the Dark Chocolate Mousse and my friend had the crumble. Both were lovely, but our mains were so very good, they were very much the excellent, but definitely the supporting act. I would be happy to come again and will tell anyone who asks how well lovely the food and everything was!

    The website seems to be out of date, it suggests fine dining with seasonal produce but upon arrival we were met with the ‘all day’ menu which, whilst very nice, wasn’t the reason we booked this hotel. The food was very nice but ‘pub grub’ with one or two exceptions. Two choices of dessert, crumble or sticky toffee pudding. Expected a dining experience as the website mentions duck, blue cheese soufflé etc but sadly it didn’t deliver what we thought we had booked.
