Sète (named after the coastal town in France) is a wine bar, shop, and kitchen. Our doors opened to the wine bar in October 2022 and the restaurant and garden in July 2023. The seasonal menu focuses on modern European cooking with a heavy French influence, highlighting the best produce Kent has to offer. Wine is certainly at the heart of what we love. With an ever evolving list that highlights old world classics, accessible natural wines, female winemakers and exciting next generation vintners. A luxurious spot designed and built by Vacuum Studio featuring a highly pigmented colour palette inspired by our global travels. Lighting is low, volume can get high and the intimate booth seating is a perfect facilitator for conversation. Our menu is comprised of snacks, appetisers, larger plates and deserts made entirely in-house* and their flavour profiles are amplified with chillis, herbs and citrus being heavily inspired by Los Angeles' multiculturalism.Our restaurant is compact and cosy with no extra space to accommodate prams and large dogs - if you do need to bring your dog to dinner please ensure they are comfortable in a busy restaurant atmosphere and are happy sitting on your lap or fit comfortably under your table. We welcome children in the restaurant however we do not have highchairs or a children’s menu. We have tailored the room to provide a fun, grown-up and safe space for all our guests and team. The Captain Digby, a family friendly restaurant and bar which caters for all ages & occasions, with sea views overlooking Kingsgate Bay. We serve generously portioned fresh, home cooked food from our bar, restaurant & children's menu. Food is served from 12 noon each day, all day until late check our operating hours before arrival.Choose from our family dining area, close to our indoor play area or our cliff top restaurant with sea views. Alfresco dining is available with 40 benches overlooking the bay but these are non-reservable and work on a first come first served basis. Please note we can not guarantee window tables. We do not allow dogs inside our venue but they are welcome in our outside dining areas. Being so close to the shoreline we tend to have issues regarding internet connections and advise all customers also bring cash as an alternative payment.

A sunny hot spring day, so four of us drove to Margate for the day. Although Margate has seen better days, this establishment was excellent. Three of us had the beef burgers and the third the Korean fried chicken burger. All of them were excellent. A very good selection of local beers. The service was friendly and efficient.

Great food yet again - lovely family meal . The only issue was having to prompt staff a couple of times to come over but they were very gracious and we did not feel uncomfortable. We will definitely come back as every time we have been the food and drink - including cocktails has been exemplary. The decor gives a relaxing and interesting environment to enjoy yourself amongst a very happy group of diners! Thank you
