Modern Chinese cooking with authentic roots. Founded in 1965 by our Grandmother and Founder Connie Moy, Plum Garden has been proudly serving the McHenry County Community for over 56 years. Our dedication to Quality and Community has always been and will always be our focus. We still honor our grandmother's recipes to this day as we handroll roll our award winning egg rolls each and every morning. All of our sauces are homemade, all of our proteins are processed by hand daily and we refuse to settle for anything less. At Plum Garden, our portion sizes comfortably feed the families that have been supporting us since 1965, and we wouldn't have it any other way. We offer Dine In / Carry Out / Delivery. Our Dining Room boasts a tasteful blend of authentic antique and modern decor.

We do not believe in premade, mass produced food. We source locally grown or raised products whenever possible and use one of the cleanest natural burning resources to heat our ovens.     We had such a lovely dinner. Everything was outstanding. The service, food and atmosphere. So welcoming. Went on Wednesday night when bottles of wine are 50% off what a value. Large selection of quality wines. We had the the special…bone in New York strip absolutely delicious. Made to Perfection and the perfect temperatures we requested. Server recommended a lovely wine and that complemented the steaks. Plan to return many times.

    The service was great, and the food for the most part, was good. Two of us ordered the steak medallions, and even though they weren't overcooked for some reason they were dry. Matter of fact first thing I did after my first bite was to check the cook. I thought it was overcooked. My husband's burger and our friends Ahi tuna were perfect. This is unusual because normally all our food is great.

    Once again, Jane and I had a marvelous evening at this venue. Our server was superb despite the restaurant operating with minimum labor (not the owners fault). The salmon special was quite tasty and the asparagus was delicious. Jane’s escargot was so tasty I had a few (first time in 40 years!). A lovely dinner.

    Stopped in for the lunch special, which was tomato soup with grilled beef, short rib, and cheese sandwich and some wine. Everything is very good as usual so is the wine. We love it here and will be back soon. Our waitress was very accommodating and the service was great.!
