Updated Italian-American “red sauce” cuisine meets the freshest local ingredients in this family-friendly neighborhood gem. Inspired by Italy’s aperitivo hour, when public squares and streets are filled with lively conversation, Portico serves handmade and authentic Italian fare in Sebastopol in western Sonoma County.A portico is a colonnade or covered walkway in classical architecture. Since the middle ages the elegant porticos of Bologna, Italy have a meeting place for the public as well as a place for business. Paolo Pedrinazzi (who is from Bologna) and Kat Escamilla, owners of the new Portico trattoria , bring this experience to Sebastopol. They even have monthly Regional dinner parties with live jazz.The setting includes an Italian fountain on their cozy patio. Portico offers light table service and counter ordering.     Hamchi crudo appetizer was so fresh and flavors melded together well. Black cod had a seared crust and perfectly cooked along with crème fraiche and beet mashed potatoes The pork chop was about 2” thick with mushroom bread pudding. All beautifully prepared and presented.

    This was our first time at Campanella and it did not disappoint! We dined with friends who were also first timers. Everything we ordered from fresh salads to Nonna's meatballs, four cheese ravioli (amazing sauce!) , eggplant parm and the delectable desserts were all absolutely delicious. Servers were super friendly, professional and extremely attentive. Drink were also excellent and the vibe was cozy and fun. All in all, an A+ and, yes, we will be back! Thanks Campanella staff. You guys rock!

    The food was excellent. I had the catch of the day and it was cooked to perfection. The seasonings in each of the dishes was unique and delicious. The dining room was intimate and comfortable with a fire in the fireplace on a winter’s night making it warm and welcoming.

    My buddy and I just wanted to have a quiet place where we could talk at a bar. I asked Matt if the Corpse Reviver cocktail worked, cause I needed it. He said it would and it did. My friend had the Smash Burger and I did another appetizer. I highly recommend this great spot with a good atmosphere.
