Della Santina's Trattoria in Sonoma, San Francisco is a traditional Italian restaruant serving recipes mostly from Lucca, Italy. It was founded by Quirico (Dan) and Shirley Della Sanitina. With the passing of Shirley Della Santina - Quirico, his son Robert and wife Nicole continue to carry on the family business and Tuscan traditions. Quirico is the chef behind the menu and has provided what's been described as Italian comfort food in a gorgeously authentic Italian setting. When you walk in the front entrance you'll be greeted by truly Italian decorations and design, as well as fresh flowers on every table.     We arrived early for our reservation, which was no problem, and were offered to try the enclosed, outdoor, heated patio. It was beautiful with warm lighting and not a hint of the December chill outside. My daughter and I shared the fig/arugula salad, duck confit and flounder. We expected two tiny duck legs but they were leg quarters with more meat than we could eat due to the duck’s richness. A good sharing dish because of that. The salted fig carmel trifle is a must if you’re a chocolate mousse fan. The Puebla de Sonoma cocktail was good but if you don’t care for a sweet drink, ask for less agave. I was worried about spiciness and asked for less heat but the regular amount would have been fine and actually better. Our server was attentive and friendly and the entire staff was on top of things. Our water never got below half and empty dishes were swept away quickly, but not in a rushed, hurry up way. My receipt says my server was ‘August’s A’ and she was wonderful.

    My husband and I went for our anniversary and it was amazing! Ambiance was nice, fantastic friendly staff, and delicious food. The staff gave us a complimentary glass of champagne to start for our anniversary and that always leaves a lasting impression. Will absolutely go back!

    Always a consistent and excellent meal, service and ambiance. Each meal was perfect - tostada, shrimp tacos and crab sandwich. Very good non-alcoholic drink selection.
