CharBar No.7 - Southern Pines

Life is serious enough, dinner and drinks with friends and family should be a break from the daily grind. This, “come for drink, stay for while” attitude has shaped us into what we are today... a relaxing, no hassle, neighborhood spot. While we do take our food seriously, we strive to offer a welcoming feeling in our restaurant. Whether it is with family, friends, or by yourself, we invite you to come enjoy some good music, eat a big meal, and stay for a drink.

Neighborhood French-inspired bistro featuring an ever-changing French-Fusion menu that keeps you coming back to try the things you didn’t have room for.
Marianne’s organic garden helps supply Warren’s kitchen with his beloved fresh produce & both are actively involved in the local food movement.
The ambiance is fusion as well - bistro style rather than “fine dining” - that is at once classic French and comfortable with an open kitchen so foodies can watch the work in progress. Art work is a mix of Mucha prints and Warren’s photography. Music is quirky.
Nightly wine by the glass specials, carefully curated wine list and a delightful cocktail menu round out drinks offerings.
Neither high chairs nor booster seats are available.
Reservations are for a two hour time period.
Classic Parisian style sidewalk seating available.
Warren and his wife Marianne have spent the last twenty-five years delighting diners with their worldly cuisine & genuine hospitality.

2022 marks Ashten's 25th year of bringing locally sourced, creatively prepared food to guests. Owner, Ashley Van Camp, and award winning chef, Matthew Hannon, work with area farmers daily to procure the best that the Sandhills and North Carolina have to offer. Step into our elegant Dining Room or into the cozy atmosphere of The Pub for a farm-to-table experience. Private dining for groups of 6 to 22 is available on our lower level, as well as outdoor dining, weather permitting. Takeout is also available. Come discover why Ashten's has been a mainstay of downtown Southern Pines dining for a quarter of a century.

EOL offers tastefully prepared meals with an emphasis on regional growers, farmers and artisans. Many dishes can be called southern in style and there is a strong nod to classical European techniques. Hand crafted cocktails continue to expand as new distilleries pop up throughout the state. EOL offers an extensive wine cellar list with 32 wines offed by the glass through a wine system that maintains the integrity and temperature of the wine.

From our famous Sunday breakfast buffet, to our pub and dinner menus, and the special events we host, Pine Crest Inn provides delicious food in a unique atmosphere. Mr. B's Pub consistently ranks as one of golf's best 19th holes. It's a perfect blend between locals and hotel guests. Located just off the lobby, this watering hole is a local favorite and a must-see for all who visit the Sandhills region of North Carolina. The memorabilia alone in the bar and lobby are worth a stop-in! And of course, the fireplace chipping board is something everyone should experience - a Pine Crest Inn tradition. Born amid the storied walls of The Magnolia Inn in the heart of Pinehurst Village, Villaggio Ristorante promises an exquisite fine dining experience second to none. Traditional Italian dishes and regional specialties are exquisitely crafted. House-made pastas and breads are made daily, and the freshest fish, chicken, veal, steak and chops are perfectly prepared for your enjoyment. The carefully curated wine list features both popular favorites, distinctive finds, and premium wines for the most discerning. After dinner, enjoy a special house-made dessert with a specialty coffee, dessert wine, cognac and more! Southern Prime Steakhouse

We are a fresh breath of class and style in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Located in Southern Pines, we offer an atmosphere of relaxed elegance and sophistication, where steak is our specialty. We have an extensive wine cellar featuring 3500 bottles, 20 of which we are pouring by the glass. Please join us between 5pm and 6pm to receive $3 off all entrees and steaks.

It can be difficult to find a place to dine at a relaxed pace and with a noise level that allows for conversation. Ashten's hits the mark perfectly! Every bite was delicious and we never felt rushed. Fabulous evening!

The food was delicious. We were celebrating our 20th Wedding Anniversary. They really made us feel special. Free picture and complimentary dessert. The staff was so nice, attentive and made sure you had what you needed. Will def be going back! Worth every penny! The filet Mignon was tender and juicy.

I went with my mom & girlfriend. It was my mom’s 60th birthday, also all of our first time there. Upon being seated I noticed a Happy Birthday card on the table, which was signed by the staff. For apps we started with the crab hush puppies, which were amazing. The menu was detailed and also came with a guide showing where all of the ingredients came from out of NC. #shoplocal My girlfriend got the Elk, which was a first for us all, it was tender and delicious. I ordered the Lamb Shank. It was fall of the bone tender. Mom got the Salmon, which was great and had a pretty cool presentation. Paired with a dirty martini & finished with almond crème brûlée. Great meal. 10/10. Also shared 1/2 dozen oysters. Great experience, will definitely return.

The entrees were excellent. Schnitzel was moist and flavorful, with the mac and cheese, it was very filling. Char special was very tasty. The warm pecan pie for dessert was sooo good. We had a Cotes du Rhone that was very good, as well. We were disappointed with the lobster rangoon, however. While very crispy, it lacked lobster flavor in the cream. There are several intriguing appetizers on the menu that we do want to try. This was our first visit to Chef Warren's and we will return. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They spent time with us, answering questions about the menu and food preparation, as well as friendly conversation. I highly recommend Chef Warren's.
