Nostrana—literally ours—invokes local. Simple food from honest ingredients. Pure, regional, Italian. Opened in 2005, Nostrana is Chef/Owner Cathy Whims’ love letter to Italy. This is a restaurant built on relationships: with our amazing farmers and purveyors, our dedicated staff, and of course with you, our guest.

We hope to offer something timeless and authentic in a beautiful space, the regional specialties of Italy deeply rooted in the Pacific Northwest. We strive to be better every day.

We're currently reserving indoor tables and bar seating. When available, outdoor patio reservations may be subject to weather disruptions.

A Service Charge of 22% is applied to all checks at Nostrana, providing a professional and equitable wage for all team members.

    I’m sure I’m being redundant from every other review I’ve done on Nostrana’s since they opened almost 20 years ago • we love to try new places but we try to get to Nostrana 3 or 4 times a year because we know the food,cocktails and wine will be excellent •• we don’t even take our own wine unless it’s a really special occasion because they always have an excellent choice of reasonably priced Italian offerings •• tonight we had a 2011 Tuarasi that was delicious• the dinner and dessert were as well-I don’t rate restaurants because there are so many variables but Nostrana would be in my top five by any metric

    Food was excellent as always. We felt really rushed by the servers, as if we were in their way, so took most of our bottle of wine home to finish it. Next time we wouldn't choose Nostrana on a night we'd like to linger, but would be fine for a single glass of wine and quick pizza.

    I always love going to Enoteca. It's an intimate space, the by-the-glass wine selections are always interesting and delicious and the pizza is one of my favorites in the city! I always try the Jazz Pie, because it constantly changes and is delicious. (And a great value at $12.)

    Literally every single dish I’ve had at Nostrana has been a delight. The staff is also super attentive and nice. You can easily spend a good chunk of change here, but it’s gonna be worth it

    Everything was incredible. Lovely everything. But, if it is not widely known that you add 22% tip to the bill, then give the bill in a dimly lit restaurant with a tip line, than one may find themselves paying 45% tip. I was a bartender. I'd stop my clients from leaving if I thought they overtipped.

    Nostrana is a Portland Destination. I have not been there in years, and now I wonder why. I took a friend there to celebrate her birthday (she chose the restaurant). The service was stellar. The staff clearly knew the dishes and the wine backwards and forwards, and all our questions were answered promptly and thoroughly. We shared the butter lettuce salad (large portion!!). It was unbelievably good, and I would have been happy with just that as a meal. My friend chose saltimbocca for an entree, and I had the trout. You can't do much with a trout, but the presentation was excellent, and it was delicious. My friend's saltimbocca was out of this world good. Absolutely perfect. I'm not sure if it is a menu regular or not. For dessert, we had fruit crisp (menu says apple cranberry, but ours had a pear). Also fantastic, and they even brought a birthday candle (shaped like a rooster). Overall it wise a delightful evening, and I want to go back soon.
