We prepare all our dishes onsite using the freshest ingredients possible. Our talented chefs make everything from our daily bread to our sumptuous ice creams and sorbets.

I was staying in Stratford for a short break and wanted to pre-book a nice meal for the Saturday evening. Based on previous reviews, this restaurant was recommended. It was a very good choice. The ambience was small and intimate and the food was of an excellent standard. There were 4 of us and each had something different but we were all equally impressed with the standard. Not a cheap night out, but well worth it for a special birthday treat.

Being fairly new to the area this was our first visit to "50." We had heard good reports about the restaurant and I took my wife's birthday as an opportunity to try it out. We were not disappointed, the food was excellent and to (almost) repeat a previous reviewer's comment......the Bread & Butter pudding is matchless. The choice of food is varied, with a British slant and just a nod toward Nouvelle Cuisine, and the prices range from moderate to fairly expensive, but judging by our experience it's worth every penny.

We had an excellent lunch on Sunday at this, our favourite restaurant. It is consistently good and we have never had disappointing meal here. The service is as good as the food and we would recommend it unhesitatingly.

We have been to Number 50 quite a few times and it has never let us down. My wife is vegetarian, and the set menu isn't kind to vegetarians, it never has been... Generally a choice of one meal. But we have learned to ask, and the chef will always prepare something meat-free and up to their usual high standards.

In the area for the day , had seen the great reviews on trip advisor, the daily and Sunday menu looked very appetising, but the food on the day let it down. The pate, which must have been frozen, was cold in the middle and slightly wet and the roast potatoes were un palatable, as it was obvious by the taste they had been re heated, - on mentioning their flavour to the waiting staff, the chefs excuse was ," apologies he had tried a different variety this week."

I booked this for my partners birthday, took a chance as I not heard anything about it before hand. What a find,,, a superb restaurant for all the right reasons. From the moment we stepped through the door the service started, met with a warm friendly smile and treated like we had been there many times we were put at our ease and made very welcome. not hurried through but left to when we were ready, the menu choice was perfect. Through out the entire dinner service was superb and to top it all the food was excellent, a great choice of starters and mains added to which were the chefs specials which all in all made it difficult for me as I wanted them all. In short , a great restaurant that has got the ingredients to make you and your evening special, we will be going back.

The food here is always good - we had the roasted cod and the pork three ways - both were excellent. It is a lovely venue, with a comfortable seating area to peruse the menu with a drink, before going in to your table, and good service, which make it feel more of a special occasion to dine here, but at the same time it is still relaxed and friendly. Have dined here several times and never been disappointed. Would recommend it.

You will be well looked after at this venue. Very good al a carte menu and excellent fixed price menu. A very good house wine and excellent service. Overall a very good dining out experience.

Food looked veryt attractive, but I had baked cod with clams and a sauce and the food lacked flavour. I was expecting a strong seafood/ fish flavour to come through, but all I got was the cream. Veg were well cooked, but chunky carrots and squash seemed a bit rustic for the look of the fish dish. My wife's seabass fillets were very good. Service was pleasant and a bit brisk at times. Overall a good dining night. Maybe next time I would go for lunch.
