Cohen, One of the Best Chef's in Orange County. The menu is exquisite, featuring edible works of art, that look so good the could be on a magazine cover. Dont forget to try one of our signature Award Winning Martinis. If you wondering how we came up with the name Opah. It comes from the Hawaiian word for Moonfish, which was once viewed as Good Luck by fisherman, & often given away as a gesture of Good Will.

Had the special for the night which was sea bass with lobster risotto. Food was very good, our server Kevin was exceptional . Always enjoy coming here.

We had a nice last minute dinner for 6. Everything came out as expected and it was delicious. The new owner Joe was very hospitable and he was greeting everyone. Looks like a nice change for a local staple.

Food was tasty. Service was very slow. We were never told about specials, but halfway through our meal I heard another waiter telling another table about them. Overall an ok experience but I would expect better for the price point.

This is one of our favorite restaurants so it was my first choice for my birthday dinner. The new owner is great and nothing has changed on the menu (so far- hope nothing does!). The one thing that has changed is the music and it is much more appropriate for this restaurant in my honest opinion. I can’t recommend this place enough- the mango martinis, tuna tartare, skirt steak, chipotle chicken sandwich, scallop risotto, Maui onion soup to say a few.

As always, Opah never fails to disappoint. The service impeccable and the food always delicious. One of our favorite places to have dinner or just a quick bite and a glass of wine.

Overall Opah is a wonderful restaurant - great food, wonderful staff in a lovely setting, but..... the music choices simply do not fit the ambience and aesthetic for which I ding one star. Opah is a classy place, however each time we visit for dinner we are subjected to late 70's and early 80's rock-type music. It's not blasting, but loud enough to be distracting. If you are dining at a burger or pizza joint then this genre isn't an issue. However, Opah is NOT this type of restaurant and enjoying an upscale meal while Cheap Trick, Aerosmith, The Clash, etc.. is in the background isn't always possible. Something along the lines of smooth Jazz would be more suitable in my humble opinion. Out of curiosity we inquired with our server about the music selection and we received a smirk, eye-roll and comment that a particular person on the staff handles the sound system and is reluctant to change it or listen to suggestions. Interesting attitude being in the service industry. Anyhoo, if you don't mind background tunes, then my review will be a non-issue. As I said, food and staff are fabulous (except "The Music Man").
