Oystercatchers is located on the shores of the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay. You drive down a winding road into the Ruelle as you approach the illuminated circle drive flanked by palm trees and bright flowerbeds. As you enter the restaurant through the lounge, enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of Old Tampa Bay. With its innovative cocktails and contemporary furniture, the lounge, outside patio and lower bay-level deck provide a comfortable, chic hotspot for locals and visitors alike. Our visually stimulating water views and sunsets provide a unique environment to enjoy feature wines and appetizers. Our menu highlights an array of the freshest, wild and line caught fish available, organic produce and seafood specialties with a unique and contemporary flair.     Very average experience at Oystercatchers, sadly. Service was slow at best. The food was average at best - nothing like it had been the last time we were there. We didn't even bother with desert.

    We had a nice dinner, food was great but the menu seemed very limited, and very expensive. I really wanted fish, but when I saw the price for one piece of fish with no sides, I ended up getting a hamburger. The hamburger was delicious. The wait staff was amazing!

    We sat on the deck with beautiful views of the bay. Unfortunately there was bad music playing on the deck speakers and different music playing on the speakers next to the deck. It did not make for a pleasant atmosphere.

    Food was good, not amazing, and same with presentation and service. I think they get overwhelmed/busy and lose focus/attention. Before all the seats were getting filled, it looked like service was much better. Husband had the special which was not very flavorful. I had a couple of apps, so can't comment on their specialties. It was CHILLY inside, per several tables asking for the portable heater to be turned on.

    Food was well below previous visit quality. Using the same cream sauce for both grouper and tuna was not a choice I would expect from a restaurant like this.

    Everything was very good; the menu is new to us and a few favorites for many years are missing so we are sad. We come once a year for over 20 years and wanted our old favorites. The new menu is good though we REALLY MISS THE OLD CALAMARI FRIES AND SPICEY KETCHUP. Everything we ordered was very good and views and service exceptional.

    Been here several times. It was obvious from the beginning that something was not the same atmosphere as previous visits. Not sure if they were just understaffed or what it was. Menu selections were limited, no specials for the night. Maybe it was because it was the night before Valentines. Long wait from appetizers to entrees. With one waiter working 6-8 tables our order may have been misplaced? Apps good, entrees meh. Server did present 4 desserts to the table gratis. Even he knew things just were not as they should be. Maybe just an off night, but for $560 that should never be.

    Started the evening waiting 10 minutes for a drink at the bar while having a seat (there are about eight total seats). Ordered dinner and everything fish related we got was overcooked (hog fish and lobster spaghetti). Best thing we got was a burger. You can find better for your money in Tampa. Very disappointed.

    Restaurant had multiple large parties who were enjoying themselves. It was unusual in our 30+ visits to have less than stellar experience. Food and servers were wonderful as expected, kitchen was probably struggling with the multiple 8-12 people tables. Everything took longer than usual and staff were unnecessarily apologetic because they truly seemed to care that things were not to THEIR usual standard.
