Open since 2002 Palmettos on the Bayou is a charming and elegant Acadian style restaurant serving classic Creole dishes highlighting fresh Louisiana ingredients.

Set on the tranquil Bayou Bonfouca near Old Town Slidell, our waterfront restaurant/event venue is known for its southern charm. Palmettos famous Brunch features live Jazz Saturday and Sunday. The 5,000sqf covered deck provides a dramatic outdoor setting at night for romantic dinners and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere during the day.

We are honored to have been named Best Brunch, Dining with a View, and Most Romantic by various local publications throughout the years.

We're located at 1901 Bayou Lane, next to Heritage Park.

Our experience was awesome! Our waitress ( I don’t remember her name) was phenomenal! Even other member of their staff were great. We went for brunch and it won’t be our last!

We’re new to the area and were recommended to try Palmettos. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the atmosphere inside felt warm and outside looked magical with all the lights and natural trees. Natalie, our server, was a gem! We already plan on coming back to check out their other menus.

Simply amazing and beautiful surroundings! Natalie was our server and put it be more accommodating and sweet. We truly enjoyed our time here and will be coming back again soon!

Service was outstanding as always! The food and cocktails were also delicious! This is one of our favorite places in Slidell and we always take guests when we have friends and family in town!

Atmosphere and service were great. Food was okay. The prime rib was tough and slightly cold. Beignets from the kitchen were great! Lots of food choices for kids as well as adults.

Lunch buffet was okay not great not bad. Bananas Foster was the best. Fried Shrimp and fish was very salty. Prime rib was tough. Yams and grits were outstanding

My husband and I dined on a Wed night @730. We waited at the hostess stand for a bit with multiple staff passing by but not one telling us that someone would be with us! Finally we were seated outside. After asking for one coke and placing app order, our app order was delivered by a server (not waitress). We finished our app order and waited and waited for our waitress to bring our one drink and take our dinner order. Saw another waitress come and go and wait on tables around us but ours was nowhere to be found. I had to go find someone to get her. She had forgotten us. Then after ordering, one out of the two entrees was not the right dish at all. So, we had to wait again for meal to be prepared. As all of the restaurant had cleared out, we still had to wait again to get check which we were surprised that nothing was discounted for all the trouble…it was $127 for two of us to wait for over an hour and half! Then to top it off, the waitress NEVER came back out to get my card so we could LEAVE!!! I had to go inside after waiting AGAIN for her and we were the ONLY ones at restaurant. When I went inside, she was just talking to the other waitress. I said we were done waiting and just wanted to go home!! No apologies given!! So again…Nothing discounted on bill, and no real apology!! Not impressed with food and very disappointed with service. We will not be back!!
