Pros- our waiter (Terrence) was superb! He was attentive to our needs & a great communicator. The ambience was ok. We appreciated the atmosphere.
Cons-
Ambience- When I made the reservation, I did request to be sitting in the most secluded spot or area in the restaurant & I got that. We were in a small wine room that fit 3 other tables way in the back of the restaurant. But, being seated here wasn’t conducive to the privacy we were expecting. On several occasions, different staff members had to come in & pick wine bottles from the shelves that was about less than 12 inches away from the back of my wife’s head, which they kept bumping into. However, we requested a spot away from it all & just went with it.
Food- The crab bisque soup was just that: soupy. I guess I shouldn’t have expected it to be a true bisque, but it tasted good. The sides were pretty good. The skillet potatoes were very good, but the onion rings were ok. Now for the steaks…The texture of my wife’s 16oz Prime Ribeye seemed more so along the lines of a New York Strip. I had the 12oz Filet Mignon which was better, so I switched with my wife so she could enjoy her steak. Plus, we had to put salt on both our steaks; they weren’t fully flavorful.
All in all, the food was okay. For this to be a very exclusive steakhouse, the steaks weren’t cooked to match the price. Eating at Pappas Steakhouse was a great experience, especially since we were celebrating our 26th anniversary. However, would we go again…probably not.
