    We are visiting the Monterey area and this restaurant was recommended by a friend. We enjoyed the biscuit, sea scallops, and whole cooked rainbow trout. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

    Really loved our dinner. Super nice staff and great food. A little understaffed when we were there which showed, but no complaints. I highly recommend for a nice, romantic dinner out.

    We've eaten at Passionfish several times and have always had a wonderful experience. Our server was very attentive, personable, and kind. I asked to have the special fish that evening - the striped sea bass - but I requested to have the trout dish preparation. The server said it would be no problem to have the trout dish but replace the trout with the sea bass. My wife had the scallops and she enjoyed it very much, saying that they were cooked perfectly. We also loved the bread pudding and banana ice cream dessert. Their wine list is quite extensive, also. I highly recommend Passionfish!

    As ownership changed, one is always “concerned” when returning to a favorite. No disappointment as food as good as ever, service spot on, and general good feeling and experience of a wonderful meal maintained. Congrats to new ownership and will def come back.

    Unique, inspired recipes. Ample portions. Excellent service. There's a separate list of allergens for each menu item; allergens in parentheses means the dish can be altered to accommodate those restrictions. Great wines at reasonable prices. I asked our waiter about a few different wines by the glass and he brought a small taste of each. The Italian dolcetta/barbera blend, which he had recommended, was delicious and paired well with our meal. A wonderful restaurant for a special occasion. Reservations highly recommended (sometimes required.)

    Our waitress was polite but a bit robotic and lacking any warmth whatsoever. She immediately told me that they do not serve cocktails, without offering any alternative suggestions. Later, during the course of the meal, we had to intercept a busboy to request a second glass of wine for my friend. We ordered a starter of fried calimari, which was soggy - either reheated or fried in oil not sufficiently hot enough. Our waitress never returned to ask how the food was. My main course was sauteed scallops, which were well prepared and tasty. My friend had seared albacore which was also well prepared. My main issues are: 1.) Passion Fish does not serve cocktails of any kind - I am not much of a wine drinker. Beer is okay during the day or during hot weather. 2.) Our waitress was cold, officious, and not particularly efficient. 3.) The fried calimari was soft and mushy - not crispy. I have no plans of ever returning to Passion Fish.

    Excellent creative menu items with attentive service. Mostly seafood selections as you would expect, but there are a few meat dishes that are tempting. No cocktail bar, only wine and beer.

    I found that food execution was on point all around. I felt that seafood never was in competition with other components in the dish. The seafood was treated as the star and the rest of the dish played a supporting role. The food was amazing, service was awesome; however, they didn’t have an espresso machine and no digestives, which was odd for the caliber of experience we had.

    Drove down from the Bay Area for a few days & stayed at a lovely VRBO. Our good friend had never eaten at Passionfish & had been wanting to dine there for quite some time. We finally made her wish come true!!! Terrific meal. Scallop appetizers were spot on. Butternut Bisque was exquisite. The entrees were just as mouth watering: Scallops, Shrimp & the special...Striped Bass was out of this world!!! Ended w/Roquefort Ice Cream (which was one person's choice & we shared). Overall, this place always requires being in attendance. Consistent in every way. PS: Candace knows how to take care of all who visit!!!
