Takai by Kashiba is a fine dining Edo-Mae style Sushi restaurant that specializes exclusively in nigiri sushi. Sushi Counter dining is solely Chef's Omakase, with two seatings at 5:30 and 7:30.Omakase is also available at our dining room tables along with a la carte Sushi options.We do not have vegan/vegetarian/kids menus. We opened The 3rd BluWater Bistro location in the Leschi neighborhood on March 13, 2004. Mick McHugh handed the reigns over to us after 22 successful years of running the Leschi Lake Café. With a slight remodel we cozy'd up the place, added some fantastic rollback windows, high back booths, some flat screen TV's, and leather furniture by the fireplace. The menu reflects all the goodness that a cozy bistro should offer, including the ever famous & popular "Lake Side Café" Fish and Chips... gotta keep the neighborhood happy. Stop in for some brunch on the weekends or some late night food.

    This is my fourth visit to Takai, and each time, I discover something new. I was told it’s because they always use the best seasonal ingredients, and I can truly see (and taste) the difference. No doubt, I’ll be back again soon!

    The swordfish was amazing. Service was excellent. The pinapple upside-down cheesecake was so delicious I was sorry that I was too full to finish it. We ordered the Dungeness crab bisque. Our server warned us that it was rich. No joke. Yummy, but you could eat it with a fork. Could only eat a bit to save room for diner. But the swordfish *chefs kiss*!

    Food was great as always. Waiter was friendly, but took forever to get drinks and food. Not sure if it was him or the kitchen/bar. Arrived at 5:30 and dinner took 3 plus hours. Both drinks and food were slow to arrive.

    This was the best dining experiences I have ever received. I came tonight to celebrate my fiancé's birthday. The service was amazing the food was delicious. They came out with the sparklers and wished him happy birthday!!! It was all amazing. The drinks were amazing!!! It was all sooo good!! Definitely worth it!!
