In 1992, thrown together on Cape Cod by political circumstances none of them could have predicted, four young Yugoslavs founded Pain D'Avignon.Their goal was to recreate the Old World Traditions using baking techniques and recipes barely changed in centuries. Their founding principle: fine breads deserve to be at the center of the dining experience, not a mere afterthought. At their Hyannis bakery, the timeless art of bread making is both revered and respected.     We had a lovely Valentine's Dinner at the Wild Goose Tavern and everyone was delicious! Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked. Shrimp Scampi was wonderful too! We ended the meal sharing a chocolate lava cake - OMG - so so good. We had a terrific time.

    Although I have lived in the area for years, this was the first time going to Cork. The waiter was friendly, professional, and attentive. We had two entrees, the lamb and the scallops. Both were cooked perfectly. We did not leave a morsel on the plate. We also tried a new wine that is now our favorite. We will definately be going back soon. Top notch ambiance, service, and food.

    I came back to the Roadhouse because it was my favorite restaurant on the Cape-especially the live jazz. So pleased that RH is back and Bart Weisman and his musicians Fred Boyle and Ron Ormsby were there bringing back the memories is Lou Columbo and his band. The oysters and grilled octopus were fantastic! I can't wait to go back again. I hope RH will offer pizzas again.
