Socarrat Paella Bar - Nolita is now accepting reservations for indoor and outdoor dining, weather permitting. In the case where we need to close outdoor seating due to inclement weather, we will contact you the day of your reservation. Socarrat, the quintessence of the perfect paella and for which the restaurant is named, is the delectable, sensuous crust that forms on the bottom of the paella pan when the liquid is rendered and the rice reaches its peak of succulence. The menu, an authentic array of delicious dishes from the regions of Spain specializing in traditional tapas with an accent on paella that can be characterized as a true exploration for the palette.Socarrat Nolita's ambiance denotes feelings of warmth, comfort, and hospitality. Building on its sister restaurant's identity as a small, intimate space comprised primarily of one large communal table, the restaurant also offers banquet, bar and table seating. This was where we chose for my best friend's bachelorette dinner, and she loved it. The ambiance is energetic, and the Christmas decorations make it festive and beautiful. I usually get the Filet Au Poivre, but this time I got the beef bourguignon, and it did not disappoint. The beef fell apart and the vegetables were tender and not overcooked. I also got a Caesar salad as an appetizer. That was fresh and the dressing was homemade. If you love anchovies like I do, this is an excellent salad! For a drink I chose the La Toissaint, and that was spectacular. I highly recommend this place if you love great food, great drinks and a festive atmosphere!

Really excellent food with large portions. It was served quickly but not too quickly and didn’t have to wait for the check. It is loud and the tables are tight. I prefer to sit outside during the summer but no choice during winter.

I’ve read some bad reviews, so I was a bit hesitant. But the experience was pretty good. We found food excellent: fresh oysters, beef tartar outstanding, very tasty burrata. Main course: excellent veal steak with mash. Service was attentive (maybe too much at some point), but we enjoyed it anyway. Nice ambiance

Perfect cozy place to have after the theatre drinks and snacks on the way to Penn Station. It was our daughter’s birthday and they were so sweet and nice to us, food and drinks were great . Delicious and unexpectedly large portions for small plates.
