Skull Creek Dockside Restaurant, dropped its anchor in the Fall of 2017 and forever changed the culinary landscape of the Lowcountry. In early 2017 the partners of the restaurant began to transform it into their vision for Hilton Head's newest waterfront dining destination. This restaurant, which resembles an old-style river house, is full of authentic architecture, reclaimed wood, and nautical accents that leave you feeling like you've stepped into a Melville novel. The sweeping waterfront view is showcased by full pane glass windows throughout the restaurant which you can enjoy no matter where you dine. The covered patio dining area, and massive outdoor bar, the shark bar, allows patrons to enjoy the Lowcountry climate and serve to further highlight the amazing sunset views over skull creek. If you are concerned about long wait times, the good news is the restaurant accepts reservations and provides a family recreation area between dockside and boathouse. Kids and adults can enjoy a variety of games, the very popular shark bar and 'shrimp boat' playground. Nothing but good things about the taste and quality of the food and service but definitely paid tourist prices. I would recommend only if you’re not on a budget.

Sadly, what kept me from giving Lulu's 5 stars was THE DARN LOUD, LOUD bar. Who knew that 4 individuals could have such loud voices. I'm sure the 2 martinis one guy had contributed to his "enthusiasm. We sat directly across from the bar and there was a 5 foot high wall between our table and the bar. The food at Lulu's is terrific and our server was good. We will come back to Lulu's, just not sit anywhere near the bar. This was our 2nd meal at Lulu's this week and the food was the star of the show. Try the bouillabaisse and shrimp and grits. Don't forget dessert. Godiva Chocolate Souffle and Key Lime Pie are 2 stars on their dessert menu.

Lagerhead has become our favorite restaurant on Hilton Head Island. The atmosphere is upscale yet warm and inviting. We are especially attracted to Lagerhead's seafood dishes which we feel are outstanding in both preparation and quality. The service is attentive and gracious. The prices are also most attractive...especially the early dining menu. We look forward to more enjoyable dining experiences at this restaurant.
