Homestead On The Roof— our cozy rooftop restaurant— is tucked away above Roots Handmade Pizza in the heart of West Town & features a farm-fresh Portuguese-influenced menu from Chef Christopher Teixeira.The warm & cozy interior features a seasonally rotating tasting menu, which incorporates ingredients from our own farm and local vendors into our nationally recognized cuisine. The magic of Homestead is its 85-seat outdoor rooftop patio with a full view of the L-shaped, 3,000-square-foot organic rooftop garden, two massive, vertical hanging gardens, dozens of planter boxes full of fruits, veggies, and herbs, and a fireplace.

Inspired by the market, Chef César Murillo utilizes exceptional ingredients at the height of their season. His tasting menu reflects the Arts & Crafts approach of the dining room - complex layers of subtle craft beneath a simple decorative style. North Pond is open for dinner Thursday through Sunday beginning at 5:30pm. Sunday Brunch begins at 10:30am and is three-course prix fixe. All tables for more than 4 people are seated in our main dining room.     The experience was out of this world. Understandably my boyfriend and I weren’t able to get a reservation for Valentine’s Day so we set one for the day after. We were seated quickly in a cozy booth in a beautifully decorated room. We started with the oysters - the mignonette was delightful! We also shared the steak tartare which we were a little intimidated by at first but really enjoyed. Before dinner I had the professional martini and it really was the perfect drink, followed by their Robert Pampignac Brut with dinner - my boyfriend usually only drinks beer and he said it was unreal! For the main course my boyfriend ordered the venison burger and I ordered the scallops. Both of us were wowed by the quality and flavors of our entrees, everything was perfectly cooked! Our server Iryna was friendly and attentive, she has waited on me in the past and it was such a treat to be served by her again. The Gage has become our favorite restaurant. We can’t wait to visit again!

    LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. always a must stop when i’m in Chicago!! The filet sliders are so good. Drinks are fantastic! Our server Alycia was super nice, she rocks! ASK FOR ALYCIA!!! Will be back soon!

    Service was outstanding, especially considering our reservation was at 9pm and the staff was working the dinner service for many hours. Unbelievably service oriented. Food was exceptional, as always. The place was packed, and as a result the decibel level was high. It was expensive, but we really enjoyed being taken care of on the night before Valentine’s Day.
