Café Berlin has been serving authentic German cuisine on Capitol Hill since 1985. It occupies the ground floor of three townhouses whose front yards serve as Biergarten for outdoor dining. The interior features a small bar and two cozy dining rooms. The restaurant is located within a short walking distance of Union Station and the U.S. Capitol. It draws politicians, congressional staffer, and tourists as well a loyal following of neighborhood residents. The traditional dishes are authentically prepared with lighter touch by chefs with extensive experience in German cuisine. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant offer seasonally changing menus that feature fresh asparagus in the spring, salads and light fares in the summer, Bavarian dishes during Oktoberfest in the fall, and wild game in the winter. Biscuits were the best I’ve ever had, crab cake was yummy and the key lime pie was large and worth the money. Nice overall atmosphere and super close by the Marriott Marquis and Convention Center. Definitely recommend!

Cranes does not disappoint! Extremely well prepared and beautifully presented, the tapas dishes were fresh and provided exotic flavor combos. The dishes tend to be fairly heavy despite the small plate size because many of the dishes are fried and my only wish is that there were more variety of veggies available.

My daughter and I have eaten at Cuba Libre located in Atlantic City, over five years ago and decided to visited the DC location for Brunch. We were quite impress with the service, ambience, and the food. Our server named Ashley was very knowledgeable of the menu and made some great recommendations in food and drinks. We were also told by Ashley that Salsa lessons were also being given at the resturant. We do plan to come again for dinner and Salsa lessons.
