Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic.     My wife and I decided to celebrate her birthday at Eleven. We were not disappointed. Everything was wonderful! We started early with $9 cocktails at the bar. We had Martinis with Plymouth Gin for only $9. They were great! Then we got $9 glasses of wine to take to our table. We ordered oysters to start, and they tasted so fresh, sweet & briny. My wife had the pork chop and I had the radiatori. They were both delicious. Finally, we had the Trio of Ice Creams with very rich & creamy vanilla bean, lavender honey, & maple brown walnut butter. They were all so good. Nick, our server was excellent too. He never rushed us, but he seemed to be always there to ask if everything was OK and if we needed anything.

    The wait to be seated was reasonable. The food took a little longer than expected even though there were hardly any tables taken. The food was delicious. I was disappointed with the small amount of salmon for$25: my ordered burger (ordered without a bun) was bigger than the piece of salmon. The staff were pleasant.

    We had a mid-week birthday celebration and "that was a great meal" was the universal opinion. Stephanie, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable. Food selections included ahi tuna, Bronzino, flounder, crab cakes, shrimp and scallops - all delicious preparations!
