Entering the Saloon, a family owned restaurant since it opened in 1967 is a bit like stepping into Philadelphia's past. Dark oak paneling, shiny brass and authentic local antiques create a warm congenial and casual atmosphere. The choice of two comfortable dining rooms each with its own vintage bars make dining and conversation a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Both bars feature a delicious and moderately priced food menu. The menu is Italian with seafood specials such as grilled octopus and dover sole. Saloon steaks and veal chops are legendary. Many prefer a plate of fried long hot peppers to compliment the steaks. All desserts and gelatos are made on the premises daily.     The goud is always great here. The charcuterie board was amazing. Lots of items and good portions. The potato bravas are so good! The garlic shrimp came out bubbling hot and so tasty. The croquettes were delicious as was the crab stuffed peppers. The French toast and eggs Benedict entrees were both delicious.

    Vetri Cucina provided the experience we were seeking to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary! Our table for 2 in a quiet corner of the cozy intimate dining room was perfect. Eric was our primary server provided so much care and attention we felt like we were his only table. He was supported by a team of 4 others who were equally attentive. The wine pairings were superb. There aren't enough adjectives to describe the exquisitely prepared plates. This was truly an exceptional evening right here in our city of Philadelphia!!

    Consistently EXCELLENT for 35 years. Never had a bad experience. Parking is easy, service is always great and the food is as good as anywhere in the world. Never disappointing...except when we can't get in!

    Food was incredible! Edamame dumplings were delicate, delicious - really an incredible flavor. The sea bass and black cod were both show stoppers. Amazing!

    Tabula Gardens is magical from the second you find the sign pointing you along the outdoor seating to enter the restaurant. Everyone is there to ensure that you are enjoying a wonderful experience. Every morsel of food was flavored to provide a symphony of delight. I can't say enough about the service and how they make you feel so special. Joseph, our lead server, made sure everything that arrived was to our liking. He is such a extraordinary server! The food was amazing! I cannot wait to return to Philly, so I can experience the wonders of Talula's Garden.
