General Public is inspired by trying to imagine what an upscale English pub would be if it had the heart of an American brasserie (and was open 11 to 11). It’s also going to signal a little bit of steakhouse, but not too much. And finally, it will look behind itself at the Black Hoof, which you will see reflected in James Santon’s menu here and there. In terms of vibe, the main floor is ‘everything’s gone green’, with lush comfortable banquette seating, warm wood, and barstools designed for long conversations over many cocktails. Wonderful dinner. Unfortunately our special guest had to cancel last minute so it wasn’t the celebration we had planned. However we had a fab dinner - wedge, tartare, skate, halibut, schnitzel, chips and three cocktails and it was fab with fantastic service in beautiful space.

Service was awesome, took care of all my allergies easily. Lovely place for a meal. Nice for an occasion. Left wanting to form back in the summer when their patio opens. Their happy hour looks sweet too.
