Since opening in 1998 by chef Salvatore Taormina, from Palermo, this cozy and unique Italian restaurant has been a gathering spot for many of friends and family. This mainstay of Westfield, NJ for the last 38 years delivers quality cuisine and impeccable service. The owner, Stephane Bocket was born in Dunkerque, France. Stephane was the Maitre d'Hotel for 12 years before purchasing Chez Catherine in 2016. His career spans many years at Alain Ducasse's restaurants in NYC and France and before that in a number of other restaurants throughout France.The Chef de Cuisine is Christine Migton. Christine graduated from the Culinary Institute of America. Her dishes revisit traditional French cuisine but use different flavors and tastes. She works to provide lighter and healthier ingredients wherever possible while maintaining that special French touch.

    My 4th time there and it never disappoints! From the time you get greeted at the door until you leave it is an awesome experience. The staff works extra hard to make you feel welcome and at home. The food is incredible and you feel as if you are dining in Cuba. The atmosphere, music, small restaurant feel is perfect. Iggy the host is great! LuLu waited on us this time and she was great! Can’t wait to get back there. Paella Cubana, ox tail, Congri are my go to’s, but everything is delicious. If you like Cuban food, you will love this place! Make a reservation or you probably won’t get in.

    If you want authentic Italian food, go to Tarominas! The food is the best. Great wait staff and the drinks are professionally made. Always a great time and highly recommend Tarominas for a date night, family night, or for a girls night out. Great time!
