The Grain House Restaurant is located on the picturesque 10-acre estate of the Olde Mill Inn in Basking Ridge, NJ. The Grain House structure was originally built as a barn in the 1760’s and was used to store grain for American Revolutionary soldiers. The barn was later moved to its current location and opened as a restaurant in the 1930’s. Today, the Grain House is a renowned restaurant in North/Central New Jersey, with a comfortable, casual ambiance. The restaurant serves innovative, traditional and contemporary interpretations of American cuisine with some added international accents, prepared under the direction of Executive Chef John Benjamin. Delicious homemade desserts complete the menus, which are revised several times a year. My second time here, and it was just as great as the first time. Each staff member we interacted with was an absolute pleasure and made you feel so welcome. The food was excellent. We both had steaks and the temperature was perfect and the meat had perfect flavor. Highly recommend.

The restaurant looks great and it provides a nice atmosphere. Julia was our server and she was very welcoming and provided a fantastic dining experience. I would love to come again for any occasion.

Lovely little place with good food. Kid friendly which is a plus or not depending on what you want. Strange layout with little privacy so not very intimate. Staff is very friendly.

Started with octopus and then had some Branzino. I’m not even big on seafood, but the manager recommended it and I trust his taste after previous recommendations. That was the best fish I’ve ever tasted. I don’t think there is a dish in this place that I wouldn’t enjoy.
