Founded in 1996 the ideas for the Marblehead Chowder House were actually hatched a few years before. Sitting at "The Barnacle," overlooking Marblehead Harbor one raw winter day, while the spume from the rough saltwater painted the windows and the Sam Adams Lager flowed freely, a concept was born. Our waitress was exclellent and the food was delicious. We had some challenging asks including egg allergies and toothpicks and she met every need with a smile on her face.

We had not been there in 5 years and it was amazing as always. We def wont be waiting another 5 years for our next visit. Dirk provided great service. We had the amazing crab cocktail as an app which both the mustard and cocktail sauces were not wasted. We tried 32oz porterhouse for 2 and it was a real winner (gotta add that truffle butter). We were celebrating my wife's birthday and they provided a complimentary birthday treat which was a homemade vanilla ice cream on top of a chocolate shell on top of a brownie. It was the perfect size for two "full" people to share after a big meal.

Consistently EXCELLENT for 35 years. Never had a bad experience. Parking is easy, service is always great and the food is as good as anywhere in the world. Never disappointing...except when we can't get in!

Went with a large group of friends so we may have contributed to an increase in noise level! But we did sit in the bar, so hopefully didn’t disrupt anyone’s quiet meal. Food was excellent. Service was a bit slow, but they didn’t have a lot of help that night so our waitress did a great job for having to take care of so many tables. We had fun, enjoyed our meals, and will come back!
