We are a modern restaurant housed in an automotive garage that dates back to the 1940s. During the pre-interstate period of America, people and families often traveled across storied highways such as Route 40, Lincoln Highway or Route 66, encountering regional foods and a variety of cultural influences along the way.In that spirit, our seasonal menu will be a ‘road trip’ that explores some of those mid-western, southern, south-western, and western dishes and techniques. Just like a garage, we will tinker with and adjust them to put together something that will make your trip to see us memorable.

Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level. Its chefs are inspired by fresh, seasonal ingredients and its bar staff creates innovative cocktails and serves a range of wines by the glass and draught beers, as well. The menu at Meat & Potatoes is a new take on basic. There are classic appetizers like fried pickles, grilled bread and fried Brussels sprouts, as well as more innovative fare like fried pigs ear and buttermilk fried chicken liver. Meat & Potatoes mains include pot roast, salmon and lamb neck cassoulet.

At Fig & Ash, we provide seasonal sustainable comfort dishes, in a warm rustic setting. Fig & Ash offers a new take on old favorites and new adventures that will become favorites. We allot one hour and forty-five minutes for each party of two and two hours and fifteen minutes for each party of four. Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. Everything was great except the lobster bisque. It tasted more like tomato soup. The steak was very good. The waitress was terrific.
