The NOLO's team consists of Marty Collins, Brett Johnson and Peter Hoff, each native Minnesotans with extensive industry experience. Marty has owned over 10 restaurant concepts in Minneapolis, MN, Kansas City and Columbia, MO, and Iowa City, IA. Brett and his family have owned and operated The Hilltop Restaurant for the past 40 years. Pete, the head chef, brings his most recent culinary experience and creativity from California to NOLO’s, The Rooftop Bar and The Basement Bar. His culinary vision and passion for local ingredients create new modern comfort food dishes. The team shares a passion for the restaurant and bar industry and sees an opportunity to fill gaps in the market in the North Loop.

As the name suggests, P.S. Steak was established to continue the story of the historic space that was once famed La Belle Vie. As Chef Mike DeCamp spent 10 years at the former French restaurant, this will be his homecoming and opportunity to write his own chapter for the space. P.S. Steak disrupts the perceptions of a typical steakhouse while honoring the legacy of one of the great culinary foundations in the Twin Cities. The restaurant features an elevated yet accessible seasonal menu, along with a variety of cuts of meat, dry aged in a display case.The lounge has been given a modern makeover with chic furniture and marble table tops.     My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and they delivered. It was a perfect evening in every way. Our steaks were out of this world, sides and salads could not have been better. Charming 1929 atmosphere that was so cozy and great service from Danika. Plus the sweetest handwritten anniversary card greeted us at our table. It was a night we will never forget, thank you!!!! Pro tip-go early or stay later for a drink in the bar. A whole nother super charming area you will want to explore.

    We went on a weekday happy hour. We enjoyed the selection of dishes we ordered. They were all delicious. Enjoyed sitting by the front window and watching people walk by.

    Don’t let older negative reviews impact your decision to go here. We had a great experience for brunch. The food was tasty, the service was fantastic, and the restaurant space is beautiful. All the windows let in tons of natural light. The food menu was slightly limited, but the items we ordered were very good. I saw other reviewers complaining about the reservation deposit. We had no issues with this. The deposit was refunded almost instantly after we arrived for our reservation. This restaurant is a gem and I hope more people realize it.

    For this our 55th wedding anniversary, it was the very best celebration dining experience ever. Food, atmosphere, service, all top drawer. Our server Rebecca was amazing. She diligently worked to make this a very special experience for us.
