Mot Hai Ba has been an East Dallas staple since 2013, offering a seasonal menu inspired by locally sourced farms and ingredients, as well as influences from France, Asia & Italy. Our original location in Lakewood offers a cozy, intimate dining room, and a lovely enclosed patio for your enjoyment.Due to our limited seating capacity we ask that guests adhere to the following reservation timeframes:parties of 1 to 2 guests - 1 hour 45 minutes .2 to 4 guests - 2 hours . 5 guests and up - 2.5 hours . Parties of 5 and larger must call the restaurant to reserve, as a credit card hold will be required.

Offering a 4 course tasting menu in the front dining room and a 7 course tasting menu in the communal chefs kitchen table. The menu showcases dishes of Michoacan, Mexico featuring both traditional and international ingredients, flair and flavors. Experience brought to you by chef Regino Rojas, multi time nominated chef for James Beard Award and numerous accolades all together.     Mot Hai Ba has been my favorite restaurant in Dallas for the last 10 years. Its unique vibe makes every meal different. I take anyone visiting me from out of town here. Would recommend: Grilled Octopus, Grilled Duck Hearts, Hamachi Crudo, Potato Crusted Halibut, and Blackened Sea Bass

    This was my second visit to Shinsei and I think it was better than the first visit! Our waitress was amazing!! It seemed she had been there a while and knew everything!! I loved her! We started with the pork dumplings and Hamachi and Pear appetizer along with Katina’s Sticky Rice…I think the sticky rice was my favorite with Hamachi coming in a close second!! We also tried the Coconut Chicken Jalapeño Poppers. For dinner I had the miso plat cod and my husband had the baby back ribs, absolutely everything was delicious. My Seabass was cooked to perfection and of course for dessert I had cotton candy. I mean is there a better dessert? LOL

    My favorite meal! Yellow tail jalapeño, hearts of palm salad, miso black cod and Matto roll are all a must! Matto tuna roll is special to the Dallas restaurant. Ambiance is perfect!
