Sister is a restaurant project from Duro Hospitality. Sister will live in the halls of the famed Grape, a Dallas icon for over 40 years. She will serve loosely Italian-inspired neighborhood fare, wood-fired meats and fish, daily house made pasta, and lightly Mediterranean inspired cuisine. The design will feel like a family Trattoria that has grown through the years including collected memorabilia giving the space a quirky and playful feeling. Sister will be a relaxed and comfortable neighborhood spot for every day. Sister is open seven nights per week.

Melding the best offerings of Chef Tyson Cole’s first three restaurants (Uchi Austin, Uchiko, and Uchi Houston), the menu includes hot and cold tastings, makimono, yakimono, tempura, sushi, and sashimi. Reservations are encouraged and can be booked online up to 1 month in advance. Walk-in bar seating is available and is subject to wait times. Shinsei Restaurant - Traditional Sushi / Contemporary Asian KitchenWhen we came up with the concept of Shinsei we wanted a place that reflected our lifestyles: sometimes we went out to dinner with our kids and sometimes with our friends and husbands. We wanted to create a place where a night out with the kids didn’t mean food adults had to suffer through or a night out with the parents didn’t mean a stuffy place where kids had to wear a scratchy clip-on tie. Shinsei is just that: a neighborhood gathering place with date night appeal. But not so unexpected that you won’t be able to decipher the menu or recognize your favorite dish. Our signature poppers, for instance, are a sophisticated mix of late night bar food and sumptuous finger food with a distinctly Asian flair.

Open for over 20 years, Oishii Owner & Executive Chef Thanh Nguyen serves some of the most creative comfort sashimi, sushi, and specialty rolls (including many rice-less and gluten-free options) in Dallas. We have an extensive Pan-Asian menu that has classic Vietnamese dishes such as shaken beef tenderloin, fried whole snapper, and incredible pho, and Chinese favorites like peking duck and sea-salt style combination seafood.     For so long I grieved the loss of The Grape. And when I found out a new restaurant would take its place I knew it would have to be something amazing. Only Sister could be the follow up we all were hoping for! From the friendly greeting when we walked in, switching the napkin out depending on the color of the pants. The amazing cocktails, delectable Focaccia, meatballs, pastas, steak, broccoli and THOSE CARROTS. Best carrots in the area!! It was all so delicious and Taylor cared for us all so well! Our favorite place to celebrate friendship and life. Thank you for always making not just the experience and ambience fabulous, but to the kitchen staff that makes all the food - the real Hero’s!

    Our sushi chef, Master Sushi Chef Elvis, served us outstanding sashimi and sushi. We even caught up with our long-time favorite server Tammy, who helped even though not assigned to our section. It was a memorable evening. Thank you. <(–:
