In 1998, Buddy Guindon, his wife Katie, and his brother Kenny opened Katie's Seafood Market in Galveston, Texas. For more than 20 years now, Katie's Seafood Market has provided the highest quality of products available to its customers. The majority of seafood comes from local fishermen and shrimpers, including Red Snapper, Grouper, Golden Tile Fish, Flounder, Oysters, Shrimp, and Blue Crabs. A producer contacted Guindon in the hopes of doing a reality show about his family business. In 2015, the reality show 'Big Fish Texas' came to life on National Geographic. As a supporter of the local economy, In September of 2019, Buddy opened Katie’s Seafood House, next to the market. Katie’s seafood market supplies the restaurant with all fresh seafood. We take pride in being the only local seafood restaurant on the island that brings fresh fish straight from the boat and to your table.

Joe’s Crab Shack offers a variety of favorites from all parts of the sea and shore.     Where do I start? What a special time there! We celebrated my boy’s 12th birthday and everyone was so accommodating to my unexpected larger than 10 showing up guests! We even got to sit with a view of his fav tall ship. The manager moved tables and Micah served us all flawlessly! He even brought him a dessert with a candle and the restaurant guests even sung him happy birthday along with family. Great memories! We have been several times but this was the best!

    Surprised my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day and it did not disappoint. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Overall, this experience was exceptional for both of us.

    Service was excellent. Misty Joe helped us order a mix and match to our delight. Old fashion drinks on happy hour were perfect. Appetizer of crab stuffed shrimp very good. Delicious shrimp dinner with 1/2 grilled and 1/2 blackened, side of scalloped potatoes delicious and cut string beans. My wife loved her soft shell crabs and shrimp as 2 a la carte dishes. GM came by to check…. Outstanding Valentines Day dinner. We will be more frequent…
