The House of William and Merry serves contemporary American cuisine prepared from the freshest seasonal ingredients procured from local farms, providing casual fine dining at a reasonable price. Chef-owned by the husband and wife team, Merry Catanuto and William Hoffman, who live on the property, the restaurant is a remodeled farmhouse on the edge of central Hockessin. Dine in a comfortable home atmosphere in one of the two dining rooms, the porch, or the bar. When you arrive, you can see right into the all new, modern kitchen. Full bar service is available including wines by the glass, microbrews on tap, and specialty drinks. All the food was excellent! From the Roasted artichoke appetizer to everyone’s entrees (Browned linguine with scallops and shrimp, Chilean Seabass, spinach and mushroom ravioli’s and Shrimp Scampi).

New Woodland Tents are a must-do!! Last year's tents were a fun experience that we happily reserved at least (4) times... The upgraded tents are warm and toasty and add to the food, ambiance and fantastic service that is delivered effortlessly. Perfect option if 1906 ( which is delicious ) at Longwood is booked for a pre/post Christmas nosh.

We celebrated our anniversary at The House of W&M and had a memorable experience! The atmosphere as soon as you walk in the restaurant is very welcoming. The bar specialty drinks (Perfect Pear Martini👍) was a great start to an awesome dinner! One of the night’s specialty entree’s was Venison and the flavor was the best. I encourage to choose from the starter, entree, and dessert as you won’t be disappointed. Lastly, everyone on the staff was friendly and professional which completed the experience!

I enjoyed this restaurant more at dinner time than lunch as the atmosphere is much livelier in the evening. I had the blackened salmon salad and the mushroom soup, and both were delicious. My friend had the steak salad, and it looked as though the salad consisted of only lettuce. It would have been nice to have bread with the soup. The service was timely.
