At Babette, the husband and wife team of Joan Ellis and Patrick Hooker, are in the kitchen preparing each plate to ensure that their vision and taste profile are translated to each diner. The attention to detail are evident in not only the food they make but also the ambience they have created. The interior of the restaurant is natural brick and the couple have chosen a rich color palette of deep blues and greens for the walls. An elegant chandelier hangs over a natural wood backed booth providing both a cozy and elegant feel to the room. Outside on the spacious patio, a magnificent redwood tree provides natural shade to the built in seating area and plants are abundant creating a lush, garden setting. Live music Brunches, New York style Pizza, unique Entrees and our famous Sicilian Lemon Almond Pistachio Cake are just a taste of what you will find at Babette.     We almost always eat in Oakland, Berkeley and SF because it's hard to find good food and flavors through the tunnel. Hideout nails it. The lamb shank, the fried chicken, the squash all as good as you get in the City. Delicious. Could still use some work on their craft cocktails, but the food was excellent.

    Loved it. The food was perfect. The Rockfish appetizer was my fave and the oysters. Service was excellent. Chef came out and spoke to several of the guests. Steak was perfectly cooked tender and juicy according to my husband. The sauce on my striped bass was phenomenal! Pricy but worth it!!

    Excellent all around. Savory chanterelles with pasta dish went well with other starters. Drinks well described and delicious. Appreciate the flow of conversation enabled by the sound panels in the ceiling.

    We flew into San Francisco during the atmospheric river for a 70th birthday celebration. The weather was disappointing but our waiter was over the top great. He was friendly, informative and made the night special. The whole staff made us feel welcome and the food was outstanding. We even received a special birthday treat! Highly recommend this restaurant!
