Situated in Lakeview's iconic Southport Corridor, Itoko is a neighborhood Japanese and robata restaurant from Gene Kato, Executive Chef of Momotaro. “Itoko” meaning “cousin” in Japanese, refers to the connection with Momotaro, located in the Fulton Market District. The menu features the high level of ingredients and technique that Chicago has come to expect from Chef Kato, alongside a beautiful interior curated for the Southport neighborhood.     Great food, everything was delicious. We live close by and have been here a couple of times, love that they have a community table for walk ins since reservations are hard to get. I have a cough and jokingly asked if they could make me a hot toddy. After initially saying no, they procured the ingredients and surprised me with one, which I thought was super extra!

    The Duplex has been on our list for awhile and I’m happy to say it did not disappoint. It all started with our server Josh S., who was fantastic- he was very personable and attentive without being overbearing, made great suggestions and even brought us a couple after brunch cocktails on the house. The chicken and donuts with hot honey were unbelievable. The chilaquiles with chicken tinga were also very good, just not on the same level. The Bloody Mary was just ok- the bacon was a nice touch but no celery, pickle or olives to really give it flavor. Loved the Blind Monkey banana infused cocktail. All that said, what really made it stand out for us (besides Josh) was the live DJ. It was a bit loud but we loved hearing our old school favorites - it just brought such a great energy to the space.

    Great drinks and good selection of appetizers/entrees. Service was incredible, staff was very friendly and attentive. Also, loved the atmosphere and all the holiday decorations. Highly recommend!

    Amazing food and attentive service! We love the shishitos with black garlic mayo and bonito flakes. The kabocha kakigori was very unique and perfect for fall. Dont miss the A5 specialty maki as well! The beef truly melts in your mouth.
