Casual waterfront dining right on the docks of the Patchogue River, The Oar serves up fresh and delicious steaks and seafood. Chefs prepare specialties like coconut shrimp, 36 oz sizzling prime porterhouse, lobster quesadillas and fresh Bluepoint oysters and little clams which are delivered daily. Two dining rooms are decorated in traditional nautical style. We met with family for dinner and we had a fantastic evening. All entrees were prepared perfectly (filet mignon and short ribs). Calamari Appetizer was the best. No room for dessert. The only disappointment was that they were out of Heineken NA, and there was no alternative. The regular drinks were good. Service was outstanding and friendly.
