Walk into TORC and you might notice the music. It's rock & roll, blues, or soul, and it's undeniably on. You might notice the energy — it's high. And you'll definitely notice our bar. It's busy serving well-made cocktails and pouring rare wines we're proud to say you probably won't find anywhere else by the glass. There are no white tablecloths. While Slanted Door is opening this new location in Napa, it all began with an idea to open a Vietnamese crêpe stand or a noodle shop in the Tenderloin neighborhood. Charles Phan searched for a location but was told that there were already too many Vietnamese restaurants in the area. He moved the search to his own neighborhood: the Mission. He quickly found an available space on Valencia Street.The Slanted Door was born in 1995 with the goal of elevating Vietnamese food to the next level—modern design, sustainable local ingredients, quality teas, and wine pairings. The Slanted Door was quickly recognized and became too small to accommodate the reservation requests. The growing restaurant moved to South of Market in 2002. It was there that the team integrated a craft cocktail program, which was one of the first restaurants in San Francisco to offer craft cocktail menus. The Slanted Door moved again to the San Francisco Ferry Building in 2004.

Napa Valley Bistro was opened in 2013 by chefs Bernardo Ayala and Ernesto Martinez, (also co-owner of Market in St. Helena). Their friendship and working relationship, which has lasted over 20 years was so successful, they decided to pool their resources and stake a claim in downtown Napa's expanding culinary scene. Their aim was to create their own version of classic world cuisine in a comfortable space where family and community could gather for any occasion. The twist is evident in the menus, which sample fare from around the globe. Guests can choose from traditionally prepared Mexican Empanadas or timeless American favorites like the Lamb Burger and St. Louis Ribs. Eiko's delivers imaginative twists on traditional Japanese cuisine. Our vision for the menu combines modern and authentic traditional Japanese cuisine including seasonal, fresh sustainable fish and ingredients delivered daily from our local markets and purveyors.     The service was a little slow m and kids menu was extremely limited. Overall the food was extremely delicious and well prepared. Everything came out hot and fresh. The chef even came around to the tables and spoke with everyone. I highly recommend.

    The food is always great and last night did not disappoint. The pork chop was tender and flavorful. Waiter great. The only downside were two large tables with loud people. Does not take away from the great food and service at any rate.

    I hadn’t enjoyed Torc recently, I need to visit more often! The cocktails were superb (ride lightening!). The appetizers and salad were delicious! The diver scallops, and short rib were fabulous and the duck breast was outstanding! Kudos to Sean and the kitchen!! Philip provided great guidance concerning the menu and excellent service!! Oh! Forgot to mention the red velvet and the pave desserts…. We loved both! (My friends who had a not good experience at a previous visit were amazed - delicious food, exceptional service and can’t wait to return.) Thank you Sean, Cynthia and staff!!

    wow the food was incredible- all ceviches fantasti the grilled veg platter for the table was fantastic tradico ahi tuna dish a must and causa with crab also fabulous sauvignon blanc wine 4 people arrived 630 and left 930 closed the restaurant a first. cant wait to return!!!
