The Manhattan iteration of the Brooklyn based pizzeria centered around a historic brick oven and comforting food. Emily has earned a following for its signature Detroit-style pies and award winning burger. The pizza here is rectangular (not round) and utilizes the "frico" technique, in which cheese is drizzled on the edges of the pie to create a crispy brown exterior. Beyond the main event, the menu extends to include salads and sandwiches, which shouldn't be ignored (think an attention-grabbing burger and a top-notch spicy fried chicken sandwich). i took my boyfriend here for his 55th birthday, since it is in close proximity to mercer labs, where we had gone first. the interior is gorgeous and the food and drinks were fantastic. i recommend the cucumber and eggplant apps, and the ginger friend rice was amazing. the staff was lovely and attentive. we'll be back!

We planned to have a late lunch here after we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge. It was so good. We were a bit full from our amazing lunch that we were happy to walk the bridge back.

Perfect kind of fine dining experience - upscale, not uptight, incredible food, and really impeccable service. It is going to be hard to eat anywhere else for the next several months. We went to celebrate a birthday and engagement anniversary, and they made it very special and very aware that they knew and cared about it !
