Haikan is our second Sapporo Ramen shop in DC after Daikaya. Haikan means, “pipe works” in Japanese, an ode to Atlantic Plumbing Building where we are located. At Haikan, we focused on creating the taste of ramen from the showa period, the golden age of ramen in Japan. There are over 1000 ramen shops in the city of Sapporo alone, and we are excited to share a completely new line-up of traditional Sapporo style ramen in DC. As always, the food at Cheesetique is delicious! We had the lasagna and truffle gnocchi and the special 20th anniversary appletini cocktail with aged cheddar. Cheesetique has long been my go-to for a nice low-key meal of comfort food.

We visited for brunch after MagFest. The service was prompt and courteous, the food was pretty great, and we were in a room in the back so it was calm and quiet. Only sad part was they were out of Coffee because apparently someone didn't order enough inventory. Truly shocked a restaurant can be sold out of coffee on Sunday at 1:30pm. Otherwise it was a great time.
