Their first restaurant together, owners Lien Ta and Chef Jonathan Whitener opened Here's Looking At You in 2016. Named a "Restaurant of the Year" by Food & Wine Magazine and one of Eater National's "38 Most Essential Restaurants," HLAY was also the subject of author Patric Kuh's "Becoming a Restaurateur." After four magical years as a small independent restaurant, COVID-19 would force its forever closure. My family came to visit me from New Jersey and they loved it. We got there around 6 ish. It’s fairly on the quiet side but that changes shortly. The food,service and entertainment were great. They talked about it all the way to their hotel. I love this place!

OMG! Joey DTLA stole my heart today. The service was out of this world amazing, the complimentary champagne was simply chefs kiss, and oh my god those hibachi wings are outstanding! Thanks joey for being my go to!
