Mrs Robinson is a cocktail bar and music venue that opened its doors December 8th 2017. iSLAS means Islands, a Filipino restaurant located in Parkdale, Toronto. The name “iSLAS” represents the 7,641 islands that make up the Philippines. Filipino cuisine is a blend of Austronesian, Malay, Chinese, Spanish, American, and indigenous influences. The flavors are a combination of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Vinegar is a common ingredient, and dishes like Adobo are popular. Rice is a staple and is served with various meat, fish, stew, soup, and vegetable dishes. Filipino meals are communal and informal, and traditional meals include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and meriénda (afternoon snack). While utensils like forks, knives, and spoons are used, the primary utensils at a Filipino dining table are the spoon and fork. Eating with hands, known as “kamayan,” is also a traditional practice. iSLAS aims to introduce Filipino cuisine and hospitality to Toronto, and invites guests to embark on a culinary adventure to savor the diverse and flavorful Filipino dishes.

    We got Water, Bottled Beer, Twisted Lemonade, Bourbon Cocktail, Chicken Poppers, Beets Salad, Bacon Mac & Cheese, and Beef Ribs! WoWoWoW I Love This Place :) Everything was soo yummy, and delicious, and cooked just right. Left so satisfied.

    food was so delicious. chill ambiance. we were stuffed by the end of the meal, had one drink each, and only paid $110 before tip. definitely coming back!

    Top to bottom 5 star experience. Service was causal, warm and attentive. We ordered the hansang (basically chef's choice) and felt it was an incredible value at $135 pp. There were 4 different cuts of meat included (iberico pork, aged striploin, marinated galbi, A5 waygu) and they were incredibly delicious when eaten alone or with the plethora of banchan. The meat was expertly grilled and served with care, a real dining treat to be so hands off during a KBBQ experience. All the ingredients and accompaniments were top quality. The space itself is not large, and we really appreciated not being rushed due to quick reservation turnovers. Highly recommend for a special occasion, will definitely be returning!

    We will be back for Tuesday Half Price Oyster night! Although we had booked to celebrate my husband's birthday, taking up the opportunity to enjoy east coast oysters at an affordable price, was a nice bonus. East coast oysters are the best and the healthiest! They were fresh, delicious and when I asked for extra horseradish and lemon, it appeared at the table in moments. We found the wait staff quite wonderful, and the manager pointed out that our corner banquet was #39 so when we come again, we can ask for that table. The rest of our meal was terrific, and the sparkler on my husband's cheesecake was a nice touch for his birthday. Tuesday was a nice night for us because the restaurant wasn't too noisy and crowded. Loved those oysters!
