TAVERNA is nestled in Saskatoon's historic downtown core within walking distance of a number of major hotels in the renowned entertainment district. The building was originally the grocery section of the J.F. Cairns Dept. Store dating back to 1907. Taverna still maintains this historical charm and character, serving delicious, rustic, exceptionally well-prepared Italian food since 1969. Simultaneously comfortable and authentic, yet aspirational. We believe that keeping the food fresh, simple and whole is the secret to a successful dish. Italian food doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate to be spectacular. We had a business meal with 8 and I cannot think of anyway to improve our evening. Our single wait staff handled our entire food and beverage service professionally, friendly and quickly with absolutely no mistakes, she was The Best. The food is as it always is at Taverna, second to none. Wonderful appetizers, spectacular mains and a good selection of drinks to accompany any choice of food. We all had an evening to remember

This was a fantastic dining experience. It’s perfect for a date night. The menu has something for everyone. The service was outstanding. Our server, Aaron, was professional, personable, a heck a culinary artist preparing food for us table-side, and he doted on us. The atmosphere is great, with a fancy decide but still suitable for casual dress. We’ll definitely be back to try some appetizers and desserts. I highly recommend it.
