Hi my name’s Neri!Proud owner of Angkor Café & Restaurant. A modern Cambodian eatery located on Spencer Street in West Melbourne! Be honest with me here. When you think of Asian cuisine… What pops up in your mind?Chinese? - Vietnamese? - Thai? Cambodian is rarely in that convo, but let me try change that- You seeI was born and raised in Cambodia. Post-war, but the one thing that kept us going… was grandma’s cooking. The unique flavours and special sauces. The tantalising spices of the curries. The fish amok’s and the prahok’s. It was a bonding experience for the family and has stuck with me ever since. When I was a young adult I had the dream of moving to Australia. ‎After years of being here I realised, that the food that I grew up with, Everything I had experienced up to that point, was not readily available in Australia. So Angkor Café & Restaurant was born at the differences in quality & fresh ingredients used introducing Cambodian cuisine to Melbournians just like yourself.

    Miss Pearl made us feel super welcome and were accommodating with requests. The menu isn’t extensive but everything they do is standout good. Crispy eggplant, brisket bun, charred beans and chicken in master stock were all sublime. For desserts, the pineapple and kaffir lime granita with whipped coconut and the tiramisu mocha….surprising and so delicious. Can’t wait to go back and work through the rest of their offerings. Highly recommend.

    Great cocktails, make sure you arrive during happy hour to make the most of it. The food is delicious. We ordered the Bo La Lot - Beef wrapped in Betel leaves and the Hoiana Banh Xeo - pancake. So good! It was a great night with a small band playing which really made it a fun dinner. The staff are super nice and helpful and the bar tender creates awesome cocktails with a real attention to detail. Highly recommend, particularly if you wish to reminisce that last visit to Hoi An 🌼
