Olivine wine bar is nestled inside of the 170-year-old heritage-listed bluestone walls of the former HM Pentridge Prison. You will meet your host to guide you through this unconventional space, until you find yourself in velvet-clad, faintly lit booths. Hidden away, the only distraction here is our novel-like book of wine, your key to our walk in cellar.Olivine is a place for all from the most passionate to those just beginning their journey of wine. Our list is written in a way that encourages you to sample different regions, we hope you'll come away with a few new favorites or some wines to add to the bucket list.Walk-ins are subject to availability. Carlton Wine Room is a neighbourhood restaurant offering a well-executed, fresh, seasonal food menu, and an ever changing, diverse wine list featuring the best of Italy, Australia and the rest of the World. We offer a bar space, an upstairs restaurant dining room and three unique spaces that are can be booked for private dining perfect for special events.RESERVATIONS: are for a two hour sitting. We do not accept bookings for drinks and snacks, however we accept walk-ins for this if space permits. A surcharge of up to 1.2% applies to credit card transactions. A surcharge of 10% applies on Sundays and 15% on Public Holidays. OUTSIDE SEATING: please note this is subject to the weather and we may not be able to move your reservation inside in the case of bad weather. CANCELLATION: A $50 per person no show fee is charged for failing to attend your reservation. Contact us on 9347 2626 to make changes or cancel your reservation.

    Carlton wine room is a well oiled machine. A genuine effort to make the dining experience special but still remain approachable and keeping the vibe. Took my partner there last night for her birthday and it’s one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a few years. Well done guys, we’ll be back!

    Group of three for birthday dinner before a show at Princess theatre. Everything we had was fresh and tasty and just right. We recommend the sausage, cheese balls Greek salad, meatballs and for dessert orange filling pita and halva ice cream combo is to die for. Will recommend and go again. Only downside for me is the noise, there was felt running along the wall but the business should consider an acoustic treatment to the ceiling too.

    Food was incredible, great value aswell. Had a very quiet, relax vibe to the place. Staff were amazing. Overall if you like filipino food then definitely worth your time.

    The food and cocktails were standout, there wasn’t a dish we didn’t enjoy (and we tried 3/4 of the menu!). The kingfish and chicken pâté were our favourites, and the oysters were really fresh and zingy. The service was efficient and friendly, and our food came out quickly. We agreed that next time we would choose a table in the bar over the main seating areas, as the converted ‘cells’ don’t get a lot of natural light. However, if you’re looking for something cozy and intimate these rooms certainly fit the brief!

    We had a birthday party of 12 and the food was absolutely astounding. Pinotta staff catered for everything with such pleasant care for us. Highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion. Thank you.
